Giddy-Up Daddy by Troy Cumming

Are you ready for a silly story about riding your father's back like a horse?  I never got to sit on his back, just on his foot.  Daddy was always willing to do that for me; sometimes he had to change the foot.  But I don't think you'd ever catch him doing this...

Random House sent me a copy of this picture book for review (thank you).  You can grab a copy at your local bookstore now.

There is an older sister with a young brother and they enjoy riding on their dad's back.  He'll carry anything on there, never bucks and they run all over the house for him.  The problem is when he goes out to get some fresh air some bandits lure him in with sugar cubes and steal him!  Who would have thought about horse rustling these days?

The two youngsters follow Dad's tracks and it's quite an adventure until they get him safely back at home.

This is a fun make believe story with big eyed characters and lots of adventures.  If you have a rabid horse rider in your family, I don't think I'd share this book with them unless you properly explained it.  Or you might find yourself playing horsie!

Happy reading.
