Babymouse #1: Queen of the World! by Jennifer L. Holm, Matt Holm

Babymouse is a queen in her mind.  Her whiskers are wrinkly, she wears the same dress all the time and she only has one good friend but she's the queen of the world.  So what the other girls won't let her join their lunch table!

Random House Children's Books sent me a copy of this book for review (thank you).  It has been published, so check with your local bookstore for a copy.

I hate to say it but Babymouse and I have a few things in common in school.  I didn't have the nicest hair or new clothes to wear to school.  I wasn't popular and I daydreamed too, so I can relate to her.

She's scheming a way into a birthday party because she knows it will be fun.  Her problem is that when she starts daydreaming she gets in trouble.  She's late, she didn't hear the question, and so it goes.  When she has to trade her homework to the cat having the party for admission, she's happy.  She'll get in trouble for not doing the homework, but she gets to go the party.

Bad news:  the party isn't as much fun as she thought.  Good news:  Weasel is still waiting for her to come and watch a movie with him, so not all is lost. Sometimes you just can't see how good you have it just being you with those you like...

Happy reading.
