The jungle animals are going to run a race and everyone is excited about it until the snake shows up. He tells them how fast he is and says he'll be sure to be the winner...
Independent Book Publishers Association and Net Galley allowed me to read this book for review (thank you). It's been published so check with Amazon for a copy.
Pretty soon all the animals are losing confidence in their abilities. They are feeling defeated before they start. It's a good thing the cats are still confident. They put in ear plugs so they don't have to listen to the snake. And when the snake takes off rolling down the hill, they have a plan...
Don't give in to your fears, believe in yourself and try to do your best at whatever you do. That's a good lesson for children to learn and they'll enjoy watching how the cats foil the snake. He doesn't win the race despite his attempts to demoralize the rest of the animals. Life's a lot like that. Let them keep talking; you just keep doing and you'll come out ahead, too!
