Miss Seeton is a hoot. She's always in the wrong place at the wrong time, gets involved in deadly cases and comes out unscathed, and she doesn't see why people get so excited. She's also the subject of gossip in her little community. It was so boring before...
Farrago and Net Galley allowed me to read this book for review (thank you). It has been published now, so you can grab a copy.
There are young children being strangled and killed. The police are baffled so the Oracle asks Miss Seeton for help. She likes the inspector and is willing to do so. But her drawings aren't talking them as much as they did in the last case. They still get an idea, though, so the cops check it out. Sure enough, the post offices are being robbed just as the murders happen. There are only a few strangers in the village and they check out and have alibis.
A poor young couple on the run help Miss Seeton and she helps them get settled. She recognizes something in a boy who is not really a boy. She also manages to be at the post office to get a stamp when the robbers come running out and fall over her. Only Miss Seeton. She even ends up in water again in this story.
She's kind, thinks well of people, and she's still bumbling about making things happen. She and the people in her village are entertaining and great fun to read about. I'm really enjoying this series!
