Runt is still trying to figure out who cursed him. When he gets a message about how to remove the black marks tethering him to the curse, he does it. He's supposed to be nude but he wears his underpants. That can't hurt, could it?
Amulet sent me a copy of this book to read for review (thank you). It is being published tomorrow.
It removes most of the power but not all. He has no time to worry about it, though. He's off on a quest to find an illusive chemical that is created by the drop of a meteorite. Of course, Rufus is still bullying him. He has hardly any friends. But he's making new ones and trying to get his best friend to forgive him for not telling her how her mother died. She's not having anything to do with him, though.
Between fighting giant bunnies, facing a huge bird and a black dragon, trying to dodge a great white ice monster and more, Runt has his hands full. It's a good thing he has friends.
This is a great fantasy read about young ones trying to do the right thing and getting thwarted more often than not.
With lots of adventures, mishaps, and more, they finally get back home. When they do, the teacher mentions his "princehood" again. Since he can't remember his parents or another home, he's not sure he's a prince. Maybe he'll find out in the next book.
